A project initiated in October 2021, as part of the larger international project receiving funding from the Institut Convergences Migrations of the Collège de France, aimed at reconstructing the phenomenon of nineteenth century migration through extensive archival research, with particular emphasis on the strategies employed in regards to movable and immovable assets of political exiles and economic migrants. Through individual case studies, the project aims to understand whether such assets were preserved and transferred to heirs or were instead subject to seizure and confiscation, particularly in cases of migration for political reasons.
